After an eight-day intense-but-orderly internet second screening, among 58 candidates for second round selection, 30 projects have been shortlisted as eligible ones for the final round competition of Dongguan Cup International Industrial Design Awards 2008. The rest 28 projects will be granted as Merit Award of this year’s event.
Results announcement of this round has been postponed for suspected plagiarism and similarity were reported in the originality report and it took jury members some days to detect and exam the originality of all suspected projects.
Models of 30 projects for final round will be made by the Organization Committee and staffs will contact 30 finalists for further arrangement. All 30 finalists will be invited to attend the final round selection, held at Dongguan Sci-tech Museum, Oct., 15. They are required to give presentation on their works and answer the questions from eight jurors. Chinese-English bilingual presentation is recommended by the Organization Committee and presentations of 06, 07’ sessions winning projects are downloadable at the Event website. The one who is not able to attend the final round selection must provide workable presentation video file.
